WELCOME

We are a mixed 11-18 comprehensive at the heart of Newark’s community with  a long and proven tradition of providing education in Newark for over 400 years. Our recent OFSTED report was very positive and highlighted some of our main strengths:

At Magnus we aim to inspire, engage and support and we have an impressive programme of interventions and initiatives to work with students, parents and the wider community.

Bubbles and Bangs!   Our explosive new primary Science club, Bubbles and Bangs, takes place every other Thursday in the Magnus Science Department. The club is open to year 5 and 6 students and aims to encourage pupils to enjoy the practical side of science including exciting experiments such as making fireworks and creating rockets! Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Contact us for more information.   School re-furbishment   Our stunning new reception and waiting area on Earp Avenue is now open and fully functioning. To manage calls more effectively we have a recorded message with options to be put straight through to the correct department before being directed to a member of staff for general enquiries. Attendance   Well done to Phoebe Taylor and Ryan McLellan who won the 100% attendance award last half term. The prize draw at the end of this term includes a Wii and Nintendo DS!
