Magnus
Church of England School is an 11-18 Federated Trust
School with over 1000 students on roll. In
September 2009 the school formed a National Challenge Trust
with the Minster School, Southwell with Mr Phil Blinston (Head
of the Minster School) taking over the Executive Headship
of both schools. This exciting partnership will give staff
from both schools the opportunity for collaboration which
widens experience and shares knowledge that helps continue
to raise standards of achievement and attainment amongst learners
from both schools.
Magnus is also part of the current wave of the Building
Schools for the Future initiative. We have already submitted
our vision for learning within the school and will soon be
embarking on the detailed planning processes that will help
shape the future of education in Newark not just in the short
term but for a generation.
Ofsted
The school had an Ofsted monitoring visit on 1st and 2nd July. We had hoped that the report would be available by the end of term but I have been informed today that due to the summer holiday it will not now be published until early September. A copy will be placed on this website as soon as it is available.

Summer Holiday
The school is currently closed to students for the summer holiday but is open to staff, visitors and summer events.
Start of Autumn Term
The autumn term begins for students in Years 7 and 11 and also all those new to the school on Tuesday 7th September. Students in Years 8, 9 and 10 will return on Wednesday 8th September. Details will be published on the School website and in a newsletter to be sent home towards the end of the summer holiday. Students in Years 12 and 13 will receive an individual letter informing them of the arrangements.
